2007 Airports: Ile aux Grues, QC

This is a small airport located on one of the many tiny islands located in the middle of the majestic St-Lawrence river, north of Quebec City.  In winter, the airport is the only link to the main land and is serviced by a daily flight.  It is quite renown for its flying school bus !  No, it's not an illusion, the runway is quite short too:  only 1670 ft. !

The island has a few delightful B & Bs and also a cheese factory that attracts many a flier to the island !
